@ranking
8th ranking is always variable in India Today...1 IIIT-A...2 Thapar..now VIT...
Don't believe in ranking.....
Institute is going well ..it is in the hand of students how they can use their potentials for the upliftment of the institute profile and ranking..
This institute is young now let the product come out we would prove some day what we are..
Therefore this is my appeal that instead of pointing finger to other just look at your self and see what you are doing for the institute and also don't only point out the problems also come out with the feasible solution.

First Alumni Meet'08 @ IIITM
"The days of 30th and 31st of August 2008 were one of the most memorable days in the history of IIITM. On these days the institute organized its first ever alumina meet. The event was graced by the presence of many notable names.
The event was graced by the presence of many notable names. The guest of honor was Prof. D.P. Agrawal, Chairman UPSC and the founding director of IIITM, Gwalior. The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. M.N. Buch, Chairman, Board of Governors of IIITM. The event was successful beyond any expectations as more than 40 alumni from various batches of IPG / M Tech / MBA, who occupy important positions in top companies around the world registered their presence. The event is the first step in establishing a Alumni association for direct link between the alumni and the institute.
The event started on the 30th with a tree plantation session, followed by a cricket match between the alumni and the students. Next there was the formal inauguration of the event presided over by the director of IIITM Prof. S.G. Deshmukh, in which the alumni shared their experience. Further, the Alumni Association was formed. The Inaugural session was followed by a photo exhibition of progressive years of IIITM. Apart from that, open sessions were held for free interaction between the alumni and student. In the evening there were various cultural events which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. But most notable performance of the evening was by the SPIC MACAY who performed a classical dance.
On day 2 (31st of August) an open interaction session was held between the alumina and faculty this was a plenary session. This was followed by felicitation of the alumni. Many eminent personalities like Prof. J.P. Gupta Vice chancellor of Jaypee group of university, Members of faculty and invited guests were present on this occasion."
P.S.:-Above matter is not my own creations but it's general documented matter for press release. :)

Alumni Meet '08 @ IIITM -III
The Idea Inside
"Sometimes, something seems so simple to say,
someone scrap it as similar simplified yet simply undefined."
It always appears simple as an idea of having a formal meet of Alumni at missing fortification of their early professional life, but it's difficulat to re-search them via similar missing broken links.
The Job Identification
After getting an idea, we move up into correlated 'idea identifications' to have a touch to the main herculean job. We identified a lot and still identifying some.
The job was getting the database of all the alumni. It's always difficult to import the data from archival roll lists. After getting the names, we need the current addreses to locate their exact position.
The Implimentations
IT and IT oriented web technology web 3.o provied the way to catch those missing links.Various social networking communities such as 'orkut' and 'facebook' gave us a few of the present adress and contact details of the alumni. Then came the phase of approaching and informing them. The response varied from being lukewarm to overt happiness at the prospect of such an initiative. Though them, we also attempted to connect to more alumni. This proved to be much more beneficial. Now, we were able to reach out a large precentage of the alumni both in and out of the country. The response was exponential. We told one, he told another five, those five reached out to the next twenty five. Within a month, all came into a circumference, containing all alumni with the knowledge of Alumni Meet.
The next job was to prepare for the mega event and keeping up to date in the alumni commitee. we adopted the similar root-defined methodology and caved some new ones. The result is tremendous.
The rest of the job was trendy. We moved in same technical and cultural fest style and came up with a brand new way to organize a fest in IIITM with few new way identifications where path seems to be 'not provided'.
The End Note
"Sometimes some segeregated lead to some new safeguards where some supposedly selected fail to seal"

IIITM-G over the Years :The Beginning
Government of Madhya Pradesh allotted land free of cost, first at the village Sonjana, on 16th January 1996. The foundation Stone of the Institute was laid on Jan 17, 1996 by Late Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindia, the then Minister of Human Resource Development. Govt of India.
. The first meeting of IIITM Gwalior Society was held on 17th January 1997 at Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi. The society was registered on 30 January 1997.
Consequently, the Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management (IIITM) was established at Gwalior as a centrally funded autonomous institution registered under the Societies’ Registration Act and sprawled over 60 hectares of land to build the Institute campus. The primary objectives of the institute are to create facilities for education, training, research, consultancy and professional development in the areas of Information Technology and Management in an integrated manner. The objectives of the institute were framed so as to create facilities for education, research, consultancy and professional development in the cusp area of IT and management through seamless integration. The institute was founded to bridge the gap between the technocrats and the managers and produce the new generation of entrepreneurs
The first director Prof DP Agrawal, joined the institute in October 1998. The first course of the institute started in July 1998, PGDMIT with intake of 30 students. Subsequently PGDIT in 1999 with an intake of 15, Ph.D. Programme in July 2000 and 5-Yr. Dual degree PG programme also in July 2000. Full time faculty joined in August 1999. .The institute was conferred, by the Ministry of HRD on the recommendation of the UGC, Deemed-to-be-University status in March 2001.
In the starting the classes of the institute were held in Madhav Institute of Science and Technology, Gwalior. The MITS had provided nearly 15,000 sq. feet covered area in the high voltage laboratory complex of MITS without charging a monthly rent with a proviso that the permanent fixtures created shall become the property of MITS. There after the construction of the campus the classes were shifted to institute in July 2002. In the starting the institute was named as Indian institute of information technology and management (IIITM) Gwalior. In December 2002 ABV was added to its name on the birthday of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, then prime minister of India by decision of Government.
