IIITM G :HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: 11.1 The PGDMIT Program

The curriculum being in the new and emerging field of Management & Information Technology is designed so as to highlight the importance of Information Technology in broad range of managerial situations. The students take a total of 28 courses-12 courses in management (3 credits each) , 5 courses in Information Technology(3 credits each), 5 electives(3 credits each) and 6 Compulsory Audit courses(work equivalent of 1 credit each); The summer project for ten weeks and the final thesis work with the industry has a weightage of 6 credits. Each credit requires at least 40 hours of work inside the classroom and much more outside the classroom.
