IIITM G :HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: 12 SELECTION CRITERIA

12.0 STUDENTS' SELECTION

The stringent admission standards goes to ensure that the best talent in the country with right kind of attitude and motivation are inducted to undergo rigorous education, training and grooming to not only meet but also set exemplary standards in the corporate world.

12.1 Eligibility


60% marks or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point scale in qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% in marks or equivalent in CGPA for SC/ST candidates) in :

(i) Bachelor Degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology.
(ii) Master of Computer Applications

12.2 Selection Procedure

The selection process consists of a written test conducted on centers dispersed throughout the country. The total duration of the written test is three hours. The test is objective in nature having 150 questions on quantitative aptitude, analytical reasoning, verbal ability and more importantly on computer literacy. Those qualifying the written test are invited for a group discussion and interview at selected cities.

12.3 Class 2000 Profile

All our students are degree-holding engineers with industry work experience. The average work experience of the batch is over two years with 76% of them having full time work experience, in the middle management cadre earning upto Rs. 2.4 lakhs p.a. They have come from such established industries as Larsen and Toubro, Tata Chemicals, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mukund Group, Essar group,SAIL, Coal India etc.

Average age : 25 ½ Years
Average work experience : 2 ½ Year.
